I encourage you to read the Imprimis article, “What We Know and What We Don’t About January 6“. I certainly can’t improve on it.
As the article says, ‘Defenders of the official narrative accuse those who ask such questions of being conspiracists. But until those questions are answered, our understanding of January 6—no matter our political leanings—will be incomplete.’
John Daniel Davidson examines the events surrounding the January 6, 2021, Capitol incident and the subsequent governmental responses. The author, a senior editor at The Federalist, delves into perceived biases in the official narrative and highlights unanswered questions that persist years after the event.
Key Points from the Article:
Partisan Interpretations: Davidson emphasizes the deep political divide in interpreting January 6. He notes that while many on the left view the event as an insurrection aimed at overturning the 2020 election, many on the right believe that the federal government's response has been excessively punitive, potentially criminalizing certain political viewpoints. (J6 timeline here.)
Critique of the House Select Committee: The article criticizes the formation and findings of the House Select Committee on January 6. Davidson argues that the committee's composition was inherently partisan, leading to a report that omitted crucial information and failed to address significant questions about the government's role and response.
Unanswered Questions: Davidson lists several unresolved issues, including:
Why were offers for National Guard assistance declined?
Why was security insufficient despite expectations of large demonstrations?
What was the extent of involvement by federal informants or undercover agents?
Why has the individual who planted pipe bombs near political headquarters not been identified?
Media and Public Perception: The article suggests that media portrayal and public perception of January 6 have been shaped by a singular narrative, potentially overlooking complexities and alternative viewpoints.
Davidson concludes by advocating for a more comprehensive and unbiased investigation into January 6, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability to restore public trust.
Regarding Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Statement:
Video (2 minutes) footage from January 6, 2021, captured by her daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, shows then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi expressing frustration over security failures at the Capitol. In the video, Pelosi acknowledges a lapse in security preparedness, stating, "We have totally failed. We have to take some responsibility for not holding the security accountable for what could have happened." She further remarks, "Oh my god, I cannot believe the stupidity of this. And I take the full responsibility." nypost.com
The January 6 Select Committee was formed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and was immediately criticized for its hyper-partisan nature and lack of legitimacy. Here’s why:
1. Partisan Formation & Rigged Membership
Pelosi rejected Republican-appointed members (Jim Jordan & Jim Banks), ensuring only anti-Trump Republicans were on the panel.
The committee had no cross-examination or real dissent, making it an echo chamber rather than an investigative body.
Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, the only two Republicans, were both outspoken anti-Trump figures.
2. No Due Process or Transparency
The committee refused to allow cross-examination of witnesses, violating basic standards of fairness.
It ignored exculpatory evidence and cherry-picked testimony.
No real subpoena power over critical figures—key figures like Pelosi and the Capitol Police leadership were never forced to testify about security failures.
3. Scripted, Staged, and Edited ‘Investigation’
The hearings were Hollywood-produced, complete with teleprompters and pre-recorded segments to maximize dramatic effect.
They knowingly edited video clips and transcripts to misrepresent Trump’s words and other evidence.
The false narrative of “armed insurrection” persisted, even though no rioters were charged with insurrection, and most were unarmed.
4. Ignored Key Facts & Conflicts of Interest
Didn’t investigate Pelosi’s security failures, even though she controlled Capitol security decisions.
Ignored federal involvement, including undercover FBI agents and informants present that day.
The ‘Trump incitement’ claim fell apart, as evidence showed he had offered 10,000 National Guard troops before the event.
5. Political Weaponization
The committee’s real purpose was, not only to tell just what they wanted the public to believe (while censoring the facts) but, to damage Trump and justify lawfare tactics against him.
It cherry-picked private text messages from Republicans and selectively leaked them to the media.
The final report was released just before the 2022 midterms, clearly timed for political impact.
6. Withheld Evidence & Destroyed Records
Tens of thousands of hours of Capitol security footage were hidden until Republicans took the House in 2023.
Over 1000 witness transcripts and other key evidence were not preserved, violating House rules.
7. Selective Prosecution & Double Standards
Ignored leftist political violence, despite calling January 6 “the greatest threat to democracy.”
People were imprisoned without trials, denied basic legal rights, and held in inhumane conditions.
Conclusion: A Sham Committee with a Pre-Determined Verdict
The J6 Committee wasn’t an investigation—it was a political show trial designed to:
Smear Trump and his supporters while covering up the failures of Pelosi, the FBI, and the Capitol Police.
Lay the groundwork for legal action against Trump.
Influence the 2022 and 2024 elections through selective leaks and media coordination.
The House GOP, under Speaker McCarthy, later disbanded the committee, citing its extreme bias and violation of legal norms. The true facts of January 6 continue to emerge, exposing the committee’s dishonesty.

Many videos are available showing that the protesters were welcomed by the police and security, even given tours by them. The biggest lies from that day are that protesters had guns and caused police deaths. More truths come out every day. Though the whole story may never be known, efforts to bring facts to light are seeing some success. Who knows what the history books will say? Orwell wrote in 1984: "Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past."
