Welcome to my newsletter.
News in America is happening fast and furiously these days. I spend a lot of time trying to keep up with the latest. I want to be your guide to updates. I hope to be a resource so you'll be informed with less time and effort. Curated links on multiple topics will update you, and I'll highlight relevant data.
The last two years have had more news items than ever before, more critical issues at one time. Energy and climate, racism and government overreach, education and the Great Reset just to name a few. Divisiveness and cancel culture abound. America is on the cusp of major changes.

From open borders to voting - By now you’ve probably heard it said that every state is a border state. The Biden administration continues to allow illegal immigrants into the U.S. and transport them to other states. So, I wonder - US Taxpayers Shelling Out $3 Million Daily for Border Wall - where is all that money going? Another big concern is that some states will provide the newly-arrived illegal immigrants with a driver’s license that, in no way, indicates that they are not a citizen. That person can then, in some states, use that driver’s license to obtain a driver’s license in another state that will allow them to register to vote, thus allowing illegal immigrants to vote. California, for example, has no ID requirements to vote. See “How will I identify myself when registering to vote?“ on this page. Here’s one take on the consequences of the Biden administration’s actions.
Inflation and food - Not only are gas prices causing most people to worry about the stress on their budget, but food availability and prices are a major concern. Check out this article on the recent calamities to food processing plants and other food providing businesses. There are other claims that have not yet been verified. I know some of my staple items are no longer available.
Climate - Ah, the never-ending topic. It brings out a plethora of opinions. Use the Comment section if you want to share yours. Here’s a resource that I like.
And climate-related, the lack of oil production in the U.S. has far-reaching effects on our economy and on our dependence on sanctioned nations that produce with no consideration to climate. This Forbes article provides some reality and common sense. For a deeper dive, check out the U.S. Geological Service’s new assessment method to estimate how much oil and gas could be produced by injecting carbon dioxide into petroleum reservoirs here.
Here’s a summary of Dinesh D’Souza’s documentary ‘2000 Mules’. I suggest you see the film for yourself. Make your own decisions, though it may provide more questions than answers.
Texas specific -
The biennial convention of the Republican Party of Texas met June 16-18 in Houston. The 8 legislative priorities for the 2023 session are: Protect our Elections, Ban Democrat Chairs, Abolish Abortion in Texas, Stop Sexualizing Texas Kids, Ban Gender Modification of Children, Secure the Border and Protect Texans, Parental Rights and Educational Freedom, and Defend Our Gun Rights.
